Behaviour system update

At Norton College it is our aim to promote positive behaviours and attitudes amongst our students and to reward those who contribute positively to both the school and the community. We continue to work hard to build a culture where high expectations and positive relationships are at the heart of everything we do.

We also believe that it is important that students understand the consequences of their choices. Our approach to behaviour management sets out clear sanctions that are applied consistently and understood by all. We support students to make positive choices, respond to patterns of behaviour, restore relationships and teach the behaviours we expect. For students who struggle to meet our expectations, we have a strong and well-established pastoral team who effectively support our students to improve their behaviour.

We value communication and transparency. As a result, we publish a weekly Headteacher's letter to parents which summarises key reminders linked to our behaviour expectations. This is shared with the parents and carers of all of our students.
